Kiki - from 2 weeks old up to release 6 weeks later
Just 2 weeks old when found on a beach near Fethard on Sea. Over time starting with worms and small pieces of cut up raw chicken she returned to the wild after tormenting us around the house (she would fly onto your shoulder and nibble your ears!). This is a typical story of how we help young chicks return to the wild

Bella - who started us off with the Birds of Prey Centre!
We found Bella beside a stream near our house. I tried everywhere to find someone how could help and only One other person in Donegal seemed to know what to do if you found a 'damaged' bird of prey. Bella was X-rayed and had several gun shot pellets lodged in her body. We managed for several days to feed her, she was getting better, but unfortunately the lead poisoned her. Has she have been found earlier, she could have survived as you can recover a bird that has been poisoned (gunshot or poison put down for rodents).

Nelly The European Eagle Owl
Alas, poor old Nelly died in July 2009 from malnutician after she escaped from the centre for 12 weeks. Nelly was a great 'performer' for her public and many visitors loved the way she would 'chat' and swivle her head (her party trick!).
